ABOUT US:
Our office provides primary care and internal medicine in New York for the adult population. We provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and care for our patients, while paying particular attention to the influence of their day-to-day lives on their health and well-being. We further emphasize diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory disease. Our office is located in the Village of Lansing in Ithaca, NY. We have a Spanish speaking doctor on staff.

Our mission is to provide the highest level of competence and care for our patients, achieved through comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of their medical issues, while building a compassionate and trusting relationship.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We believe that modern medicine has achieved an unprecedented level of sophistication in its ability to diagnose and treat disease. Yet, at the same time, issues in the delivery of modern health care have set the stage for a diminished patient-doctor relationship — often to the dissatisfaction of both!
We believe that providing the highest level of care in medicine requires a detailed understanding of not just a patient's symptoms, but of the total environment impacting his or her well-being. Dr. Stevanovic has been interested in understanding how psychosocial pressures - the stresses patients face in their lives - set the stage for a number of diseases. Often, a patient's coping mechanisms are ineffective. In this regard, Dr. Stevanovic has been successful in establishing "old-fashioned" patient-doctor relationships in which trust, competence, and honest caring work together to address patients' health issues effectively and comprehensively.
EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Stevanovic has practiced and taught primary care medicine for over 25 years, treating thousands of patients in hospital, clinic, and private practice settings. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and in Hypertension.
Dr. Stevanovic received his medical degree from Faculté de Médecine, Université de Grenoble, France. He completed Residency in the Combined Medicine and Pediatrics Program at New York Medical College - Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, Bronx, NY.
He later served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and as Attending Physician in the Department of Primary Care Medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY, among other clinical and academic positions. He completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Endocrinology and Hypertension in Boston, MA.
Dr. Stevanovic holds a hospital appointment at Cayuga Medical Center and the title of Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical School. (See "About Dr. Stevanovic" for more information.)

Dr. Stevanovic is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Serbo-Croatian and has working capability in all Romance and Slavic languages, as well as German.
